In a 1748 letter entitled Advice to a Young Tradesman, Benjamin Franklin coined the famous phrase “Time is Money”. The closing summary of this essay is as follows:
A quick note on affiliate marketing1. I won’t link to anything I don’t think is worth your time. I am here to make life easier for you. And to save you money. Therefore, if I link to anything it is because I think you would benefit from it.
2. The blog costs a bit of money to run. Not loads but buying domains, emails, other bits and pieces like that come at a price. I don’t do it for to earn an income, but it’s nice to think that one day dough. might pay for itself.
3. I wanted to have a go. There are a lot of sites that say that affiliate marketing (the process of referring someone on and taking commission for it) is a way of using your blog to make millions and never work again. I am highly sceptical of such claims, but I wanted to test it out. That way in the future if I blog on affiliate marketing, I can provide a more informed opinion.
4. It's a money saving blog. I'd be silly not to.
